2018 Chenin Blanc - $18/bottle

Origin: Swartland, South Africa

Components: 100% Chenin Blanc

Soil/Climate: Decomposed granite & shale / dry, unirrigated bush vines

awards: 91 pts - Anthony Dias Blue, Feb 2019

“100% Chenin Blanc drawn from a blend of older, dry farmed bush vines & younger, drip irrigated vines. Its deep straw colour points towards both ripe freshness & complexity. The nose brings tropical & stone fruits first, eliciting thoughts of tangerine & lychee. The palate is round and fleshy, purshing forward lychee again, along with white peach, apricot & green apple, all carried by a  touch of elevated acidity. There is Brightness & a slight hint of freshly baked bread throughout. the finish is long, soft & affectionate. “

2017 Rhone Red Blend - $18/bottle

Origin: Coastal Region, South Africa

Components: 39% Shiraz // 34% Grenache // 15% Mourvedre // 9% Cinsault // 3% Carignan

Soil/climate: Decomposed granite & shale, mix of climate conditions

awards: 91 pts - Anthony Dias Blue, Feb. 2019

“A complex blend of five different varietals, the wine is a lush, dark ruby colour, indicating a serious, yet still vibrant wine. The nose suggests equal parts fruit, savour, & spice, eliciting thoughts of plum, liquorice & a touch of ground coffee. The palate reflects on this, showing dark fruits at first, before soon giving way to lighter red fruits, such as strawberry & raspberry, which carry to the end. it finishes with a touch of spice & raw earth. Throughout it is soft with a slight presence of tannins, which is quickly countered by an elevated acidity.”
