'Rainboat' Pét-Nat

4.1/5.0 - 249 reviews

This lively Pét-Nat comes from 12 tons of Cinsault hand harvested from a block on a tiny organic farm in the heart of the Swartland. Lined by Conifers for wind protection and bursting with life from its rocky soil, it’s a vibrant place. The equally vibrant ‘Rainboat’ – sketched by one Cape Town’s best urban Artist’s, Chris Auret - adorns the bottle’s front, a fitting sign of the rocket juice inside. Funky label from a funky artist for a funky wine from a funky vineyard, all full of personality.

Fermented using native yeasts, unfined, unfiltered & bottled without added sulphur. Low in alcohol & high in energy

Tasting Notes: Strawberry, pink apple, cider, candy floss & dry grain on the nose give way to a flavor experience that can only be understood fully when experienced. Strawberry, cranberry, lemon drop, buchu leaf & pomengranate notes come across the palate alongside a sweet & sour experience more befitting to kombucha than wine.

organic, funky & full of character

'Orange Is' Skin Contact

a jazzy label for a jazzy wine

3.9/5.0 - 219 reviews

This wine dons the album art of the contemporary South African jazz collaborative record, “Indaba Is,” a legendary musical compilation that weaves and bends together, etched with the ardor of the 52 musicians it contains. The wine it adorns takes encouragement from this collaborative energy - a blend of grapes from 5 different parcels - Orangerie, Hillside, Kasteelsig, Paarderberg & Waterval - all dotted across the Swartland & made whole by their togetherness - the combination of juice, 7 blissful days on skins and some cherishing, the whole greater than the sum of its parts. Drink with companions and music. There was never just one sound.

Destemmed, Natural Ferment with 7 Days Skin contact, then cellared for 6 months in old French Oak.

Tasting Notes: A colour reminiscent of summer touched water turned to wine. Green herbs & tea bags on the nose give way to a soft, fuzzy palate of sundried peaches, apricots, almond skins, lemons, melons & ripe naartjies.
